Dear MMM-Students,
since quite a few of you have raised concerns in the past weeks regarding the lacking Marketing courses MKT 520 and MKT 510 in the English Track, we are happy to announce that a solution was finally found.
Thanks to the open letter and a letter written by the members of the Fachschaft BWL we could agree on a compromise in a personal talk with Prof. Homburg which enables all of you to take part in the two Marketing courses and write your Master Thesis in Marketing if you wish to do so. Below you find the statement by Prof. Homburg:
Dear students,
I have received your open letter regarding the topic of teaching my courses MKT 510 and MKT 520 in English and I completely understand your concern. I didn't know that in fact quite a number of students are affected in their choice of courses. Having said that, I am happy to see a lot of you being interested in Marketing and I will make adequate modifications to allow you to specialize in Marketing.
In particular, I will offer both courses in English starting next spring term. MKT 520 will be offered in English in FSS 2013 and MKT 510 will be offered in English in HWS 2013 for the first time. The research seminar can be attended parallel to MKT 510 in the coming fall semester. For those of you planning an exchange semester, I will offer to grant Learning Agreements for MKT 510 if possible (for Learning Agreement approval please contact my assistants in advance).

Relevant informational as well as social events concerning your studies, the university, your fellow students and Mannheim in general, will take place between August 29 and August 31. The detailed schedule of the introductory week in English can be found in your AStA brochure.

Die Anmeldung zum Grillabend für neue Studenten der Studiengänge Master BWL und Wirtschaftsinformatik ist nun möglich.
Der Grillabend findet am 04.09.2010 statt. Hierfür ist ein Unkostenbeitrag in Höhe von 10,00 € zu entrichten.

Streichung des Prüfungsergebnisses möglich!
Die Studienkommission Lehre der Fakultät BWL hat in ihrer Sitzung am 10.05.2010 auf Bestreben der Fachschaft BWL entschieden, dass Studierende im Master, welche von der nachträglichen Einführung von MAN 500 als Voraussetzung für andere Veranstaltungen der Area Management betroffen waren, die Prüfungsleistung im Fach MAN 500 streichen lassen können.
Um die Prüfungsleistung zu streichen muss ein formloser Antrag bis zum 9.Juni 2010 bei dem jeweiligen Prüfungsausschuss (BWL: Prof. Spengel, Wirtschaftsinformatik: Prof. Stuckenschmidt) eingegangen sein.
