Application and Admission
The application and admission processes for both Master programs are fairly similar, but there are minor differences. That is why we compiled all important information for each program below.
The application process for the Mannheim Master in Management starts mid March and ends on the 31st Mai. In addition to formal documents such as your Abitur (or a similar high school diploma), your CV and your completed application form, the University of Mannheim requires your undergraduate degree and a GMAT or GRE certificate (GMAT program code for the MMM: “VLC-95-04”).
Admission requirements
Your application will only be considered, if you fulfill certain requirements. Most importantly, you need to reach at least 600 points in the GMAT exam. Additionally, you must have completed your undergraduate degree. There is an exception: If you are still enrolled in your undergraduate program but have already reached more than 140 ECTS, you are still eligible to apply. Be aware that it is compulsory to prove a minimum of 36 ECTS in Business Administration classes.
Application process
The application process is based on a scoring system. At most, you can reach 148 points with your application.
The maximum score of 148 points is divided into 5 parts.
- Undergraduate degree: up to 60 points
- GMAT/GRE: up to 60 points
- Semester Abroad during your undergraduate degree: up to 22 points
- Internships or a apprenticeship in an business related subject: up to 6 points
- Other qualifications: up to 2 points
The maximum of 60 points for an undergraduate degree with an grade of 1,0 gets decreased by 2 for a grade that is increased by 0,1. In other words a 1,1 gives you 58 points .
The calculation for your GMAT equivalent points in your application works in a similar way. The difference here is that you get 60 points for a GMAT score of 800. This score will be lowered by 3 points for every decrease of 10 in your GMAT.
It is important to know that your GRE score will get converted into a GMAT equivalent. You can convert your own GRE score into a GMAT one on the following website.

The application process for the Mannheim Master in Business Research starts mid March and ends on the 31st Mai. It is also possible to hand in an essay about a business topic related to your chosen track.

The maximum of 45 points for an undergraduate degree with an grade of 1,0 gets decreased by 1,5 for a grade that is increased by 0,1. In other words a 1,1 gives you 43,5 points .
The calculation for your GMAT equivalent points in your application works in a similar way. The difference here is that you get 75 points for a GMAT score of 800. This score will be lowered by 4,5 points for every decrease of 10 in your GMAT. However, a score of 630 or 640 both equals 3 points.

Bare in mind to hand in your essay, it is essential for your application. Your essay needs to fulfill certain requirements: First of all, it is supposed to be related to your track of choice in your MMBR application. Additionally, it should not be longer than 10 pages (Your bibliography does not count) on DIN A 4 paper, everything in excess will not be graded. It is mandatory to choose a font size of at least 12 points. After all, your essay will be grated by a professor or junior professor of the Business School.
