Of course the semester abroad should be an unforgettable experience and you should be able to enjoy every minute of it, nevertheless you have to write exams, essays or other kind of tests to prove your academic efforts. However, these courses do not need to be solely economic courses. This part of the studies offer the unique opportunity to catch a glimpse of something different by choosing a subject from an different area. Again, slightly different rules apply for freemovers.
Of course, you have to make sure in advance that the courses you want to take correspond to the expectations of the University of Mannheim. Therefore, the outgoing student and the International Office of the Dean’s Office prepare a Learning Agreement.
Generally, going abroad requires some effort and planning but with the help from the DAAD and the team of the Dean’s Office of the Business School, every student can look forward to the semester abroad.
Beginning with the second semester, the students receive a series of newsletters explaining the upcoming procedure step-by-step. Subsequently, various information events take place providing further detailed information. This information can also be found on the webpages of the DAAD and the Dean’s Office of the Business School. All necessary information regarding application and the structure of the semester abroad is readily available.
